I was born and raised in Ontario and began my insurance career working as a file clerk for the Pilot Insurance Company. In 1982 I moved to B.C. and began working as an insurance broker for Wolstencroft Insurance in New Westminster. Over the next 16 years, I had the opportunity to gain experience in all areas of the brokerage business while working at various agencies in the lower mainland including Richmond Savings, Protechnical Insurance and Johnston Meier. In 1998 I changed gears and moved to the company side of the business, joining Aviva Insurance Company as an Underwriter. While working towards my CIP designation, I moved through the ranks as Supervisor and finally to Personal Lines Manager. I joined Canadian Northern Shield in the spring of 2010 becoming the Director of Underwriting, in 2014. Through the years I have been able to share the knowledge I have gained with others, presenting Insurance Institute seminars and training platforms. In 2015 I returned to my insurance roots, joining Kootenay Insurance Services as the Branch Manager in Nelson. My husband Chuck and I purchased a 43 acre farm that we share with our oldest daughter and her husband, while our youngest daughter remains in the lower mainland, following in my insurance footsteps as an adjuster for Intact Insurance.
